I am currently an astronomer working at NOIRLab in Tucson, Arizona. I completed my PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics with a dual title in Astrobiology at the Pennsylvania State University in 2023 under the supervision of Jason Wright. I graduated from the University of Virginia (go Hoos!) in 2018 with a degree in Astrophysics. My research encompasses a broad range of topics related to the detection and characterization of exoplanets, including survey planning, giant planet migration, asteroseismology and stellar activity, and population demographics. And while I consider myself an observer first, I do enjoy tackling problems on the theoretical end as well.
Throughout my career, I've enjoyed participating in astronomy outreach and giving public talks. At NOIRLab, I have helped with a number of observatory tours and other events for members of the Tohono O'odham Nation. As a graduate student, I helped organize and run the State College chapter of Astronomy on Tap, and I have given public talks at Astronomy on Tap events in multiple cities. I also helped launch and coordinate STAR, a graduate-undergraduate astronomy research mentoring program at Penn State.
Most of my time outside of work is spent with my puppy, Ender, who is slowly but surely growing up to be a fantastic running partner. My current hobbies include running, reading, and board games. In the past, I've devoted a lot of time to rock climbing and competitive weightlifting, and I worked as a volunteer firefighter for 4 years while in grad school.
